“Molly, Rape Drug, You Ain’t Even Know It”.

The rapper “Rick Ross” has been an amazing artist until he came out with the remix to “U.O.E.N.O” in 2013. Rick Ross put people in shock with the lyrics “Put Molly all in her champagne, she ain’t even know it. I took her home and I enjoyed that, she ain’t even know it.” Some people would never believe how people would do and say anything just for money and fame. Rick Ross made people believe that the drug “Molly” is used to enjoy people or things of life and to be known as “the rape drug. Ross quotes that he never meant for the song to have a negative effect on the society. People can be wrong or do things wrong even if you’re famous because all people are the same.

Molly is a drug slang term used to describe the purest form of MDMA (3.4-Methylenedioxymethamphetamine, commonly known as ecstasy). Many rappers used the term molly in their song because people use molly’s for partying, just trying it for the first time, or following their friends. For Ross’s actions, women signed a petition to ask that Ross be dropped by Reebok. Women were offended by Ross’s lyrics because he made it seem like you could do anything to a female if their under the use of drugs. Reebok’s says that they puts a lot of time in what they do for women and Ross says that  “I just want to reach out to all my queens that’s on my timeline, all the sexy ladies, the beautiful ladies that have been reaching out to me with the misunderstanding: We don’t condone rape, and I’m not with that.”

Many people know Ross for being a good all-around musical artist, but Ross has a background like, In January 2008, Ross was arrested on gun and marijuana charges. So if someone so famous can do things like this, maybe Rick Ross should be known as the rapist he is. Ross says “that using a substance to rob a woman of her right to make a choice is not only a crime, it’s wrong and I do not encourage it. To my fans, I also apologize if I have disappointed you. I can only hope that this sparks a healthy dialogue and that I can contribute to it.” After Ross apologizes to everyone he may have hurt or put down, many people started to have faith into Ross’s music.
